While interest in ESG was increasing before the COVID-19 pandemic, financial institutions are now paying even more attention to everything from climate change to the treatment of employees to pressing social causes. Banks are identifying ESG risks across their own businesses – with a heightened awareness of the impact ESG now has on day-to-day business decisoning and the organization’s brand and reputation. Regulations which go beyond ESG reporting / disclosure are gaining traction in Europe and are expected to take hold in the US in the near future, particularly with the focus of the new Administration. In this session you will learn:
* Approaches taken by large financial services organizations – both in Europe and domestically – to manage ESG risk across asset of risk stripes;
* Current and expected requirements and best practices, lessons learned, and management’s key near-term priorities regarding ESG; and
* How ESG is affecting risk and controls, with examples of practical application techniques in the context of assessing ESG in 2021 and the years ahead.
